Wow, a coffee shop that respects and takes pride in the entire coffee experience. Upon entering we were greeted by friendly staff and the aromas of the coffee beans that were being roasted. You can see, hear, smell and taste the love they put into each cup of coffee. My husband had a cup of the house blend coffee with steamed milk, I had a few sips and it was very smooth and medium-bodied. I ordered a chai tea latte which was frothy with the perfect amount of sweetness. We will definitely be back!
A great stop if you ever need a coffee break on the way back from Long Beach. As soon as you step inside, the smell of roasted coffee beans hits you, and you are instantly transported to a strange alchemist's laboratory filled with all manner of coffee-making instruments.
The coffee is very good and I'm happy for Sheldrake that they enjoy great ratings, but I have a policy regarding public restrooms. If I'm spending my money at an establishment, the least they can do is provide a clean restroom. This feels especially true in a shop where the clients are sipping diuretic liquids. After I finished the business meeting I had on their patio, I asked the barista where the restroom is and he said Win Dow, the burger place next door "let's us use theirs." Really? But it was early and Win Dow wasn't open. He told me the closest business with a public restroom is a 10 minute walk. Had I still been in my meeting and needed to excuse myself, I would have to do so for 20 minutes. Don't think so. Haven't done business at Subway or Arco gas stations for decades for the same reason. Won't be going back to Sheldrake unless this changes.
My favorite coffee spot on 2nd Street! The staff is incredibly friendly, the prices are affordable, and the quality is consistently top-notch. Their coffee is freshly roasted daily, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it feel like home. Compared to other shops along the strip like Stereoscope, Philz, Chapter II, and Colossus where a single coffee/ latte can run you $7-9, you can get a iced latte for $4.25 here. This place truly stands out for its exceptional service and quality. It’s hands-down the best value and experience in the area!
Easy, this is on my top 10 Coffee House list for 2018! Big, big wow... Many kudos. They have style, history, color, suave and coffee roasted in house with vintage roasting machine. Polly's is vintage gorgeous. That isn't all either. The location on 2nd St in Long Beach is way cool. They have patio seating of you prefer the warmth of California over 200 days every year. Every inch of Polly's talks to you. I love this place. Wait, wait, wait, the service is way above average; friendly barristers to serve you. Take your camera, friends and family! the coffee was good but more importantly, the cashier and barista were apparently making fun of what we ordered and i dont like that type of degrading energy, so ill probably never go back. but the coffee was good. they were also rude and treated the person behind me in a way that i consider inappropriate and he was clearly being very friendly and polite to them. i wouldnt recommend this place for that reason, but the coffee is good if thats all you are after.
